Jordans Music Club Summer Festival aims to promote chamber music of the highest quality in the local area, featuring both established international artists and talented young musicians, and is now in its 75th year. Their 2018 season of Sunday concerts opens on 3rd June and runs fortnightly until 15th July.

Isata and Sheku’s programme ranges from the 18th to the 20th century: Bach’s cheerful sonata originally for viola da gamba, Brahms’ magnificent second sonata and two French classics, the Poulenc and Debussy cello sonatas.  The Poulenc was played for the first time in the UK at Jordans by Poulenc himself with Pierre Fournier on cello!  Both sonatas are hauntingly beautiful.
