Part of the Beaminster Festival 2017, Sheku, accompanied by his sister Isata Kanneh-Mason, shares the programme with Jess Gillam, fellow finalist in the BBC Young Musician of Year 2016.  Jess made history as the first saxophonist to win the Woodwind Final of BBC Young Musician of the Year, and went on to reach the Grand Final alongside Sheku, performing Michael Nyman’s “Where the Bee Dances” with the BBC Symphony Orchestra at London’s Barbican Hall to critical acclaim.

Sheku is delighted to be performing on the same stage with Jess again – this time without the stress of competition!
