PERFORMERS
Sheku Kanneh-Mason, cello
London Philharmonic Orchestra
Edward Gardner, conductor

PROGRAMME
Saint-Saëns: Concerto for Violoncello and Orchestra No. 1 in A minor op. 33

VENUE NOTE
British rising star Sheku Kanneh-Mason performs Saint-Saëns’ elegant Cello Concerto alongside the London Philharmonic Orchestra under Chief Conductor Edward Gardner.

His unprecedented career began when he first emerged as the surprise winner of the television show “Britain’s Got Talent” and then captivated an audience of millions at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Not exactly the usual path for a young graduate of the Royal Academy of Music… Yet the likeable musician and football enthusiast has remained down-to-earth and approachable, enjoying playing with his six siblings as much as with the world’s best orchestras. The London Philharmonic Orchestra, for example, is adding Rachmaninoff’s Third Symphony to the romantic program in this concert.
